Vol. 61 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Millers and Excess Milling.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will state the names of the flour millers who milled in excess of their quota during the quota year 1934/35 and the amount of the excess in each case, and whether he will state further the names of the millers who have not paid the fines imposed on them in respect of excess milling; the amount of the fine imposed in each case, and the amount outstanding.

I am not prepared to state the names of flour millers who milled in excess of their quota for the quota year 1934/35, nor am I prepared to state the amount of the excess in each case. There is only one mill in respect of which the sum demanded for overmilling has not been paid and, as stated in my reply to Deputy Norton on the 24th March last, the question of instituting proceedings for the recovery of the sum demanded is being considered by my Department.
