Vol. 62 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Tipperary Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that there is a widespread demand in the Emly district, County Tipperary, for the division of the Ryan Estate at Ballyholihan and the O'Connor Estate at Knockcarron; whether it has been represented to him that the delay in dealing with these estates is causing grave discontent in the locality and whether he is in a position to state if these estates will be acquired for subdivision at an early date.

The Land Commission propose as soon as possible to have inspections made of the two estates of Ryan and O'Connor mentioned in the Deputy's question, with a view to ascertaining their suitability for acquisition. The Land Commission are not at present in a position to say whether, or when, these estates will be acquired, but the relative proceedings will be expedited.
