Vol. 62 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Appointment of Clerk of Works (Boyle).

asked the Minister for Education on what grounds did he satisfy himself that Mr. Turbett of Boyle, County Roscommon, had the necessary qualifications and experience to equip him for the position of clerk of works on the contract for erecting the vocational school building at Boyle.

This appointment was made by the County Roscommon Vocational Education Committee. When making the appointment the committee had before it satisfactory testimonials regarding Mr. Turbett's qualifications and experience from a number of building contractors and from a school manager who had employed Mr. Turbett in school repair work. These testimonials satisfied my Department that there was no objection to the appointment made by the committee.
