Vol. 62 No. 16

Written Answer. - Unemployment Assistance Application.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state why the application of John Moore, Castledoherty, Ardara (serial No., Killybegs 2335), for unemployment assistance, has been rejected on appeal.

The appeal lodged by John Moore of Castledoherty, Ardara, was referred by the unemployment assistance officer to the court of referees in accordance with the provisions of the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1933. The court of referees recommended that the application be refused on the ground that the applicant was not unemployed within the meaning of Section 4 (1) of the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1933, and the court's recommendation was accepted by the unemployment assistance officer. Payment of unemployment assistance was, therefore, discontinued.
