The precise information required by the Deputy is not available. The information supplied monthly by local authorities to this Department relates to the total number of persons on home assistance on the last Saturday of each month and to the total expenditure on home assistance over the monthly period.
These figures for the period referred to will be published in tabular form in the Official Report. The table will be exclusive of the figures for May, 1936, which have not yet come to hand but which when available will be issued to the Press.
