Vol. 63 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Councils and Minor Drainage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is prepared to introduce proposals for legislation for the purpose of enabling county councils to undertake minor drainage schemes costing not more than £2,000.

Having regard to the fact that very few county councils availed themselves of the Arterial Drainage (Minor Schemes) Act, 1928, I am not disposed to introduce proposals of the kind mentioned by the Deputy. The whole question of arterial drainage is receiving consideration.
