Vol. 63 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Definition of River Mouth.

Mr. Lynch

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware that considerable confusion prevails as to the exact position of the defined mouth of the Owen More River, Castlegregory, County Kerry; and whether he will be prepared to send down an inspector from the Department to hold an inquiry with a view to having the mouth defined.

Dr. Ryan

I am not aware that any doubt exists as to the position of the defined mouth of the river in question. In compliance with local requests, a special examination of the place was made in 1933 by an inspector who reported that, while the old channel of the river had changed, the alteration had occurred at a point outside the defined mouth which was therefore not in any way affected by it.
