Vol. 63 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Refusal of Disability Pension.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state why a disability pension was refused to James Mack of Rineen, Waterville, County Kerry, who served with the I.R.A., pre-Truce, and also in the National Army and who contracted tuberculosis during his service.

Ex-Private James Mack, Rineen, Waterville, County Kerry, submitted a claim under the Army Pensions Act, 1927, in respect of pulmonary tuberculosis. No award was made because it was determined that the disease was not attributable to service within the statutory period, i.e., the period ending the 30th September, 1924.
