Vol. 64 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hacketstown Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether representations were made to him concerning the condition of the water supply in Hacketstown, County Carlow; whether he is aware that the County Medical Officer of Health has reported that water drawn from certain pumps in the town is unfit for use unless previously boiled, and whether he is prepared to take the necessary steps to induce the board of health to provide a proper water supply in the town.

Representations were received in this matter and a report thereon was made by the Acting County Medical Officer of Health as indicated in the question. The Carlow Board of Health and Public Assistance at their meeting on the 28th September last instructed their engineer to carry out repairs to the three wells and pumps in Hacketstown.
