Vol. 64 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Omnibus Services.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that there is considerable dissatisfaction amongst the general public, particularly in the new housing and suburban areas in the City of Dublin regarding the inadequate omnibus services, and if he will take steps to secure improved transport services.

I am aware of the dissatisfaction referred to by the Deputy and my Department has been continuously in touch with the Tramways Company regarding the matter.

I am informed that delivery of the new omnibuses at present under construction at the company's works is due to commence within the next two weeks, following which a progressive improvement in the position should become noticeable.
