Vol. 65 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Subsidies.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he has yet arrived at a decision to pay subsidies on houses costing over £300, in accordance with representations made to him by the Council of Municipal Councils.

No decision has been reached. The matter is still receiving consideration.

In view of the fact that the cost of building has increased by from 15 per cent. to 20 per cent., will the Minister try to get an early decision?

I do not accept the figures given by the Deputy as to the increase.

I do not think they are far wrong.
