The Ballinakill waterworks scheme was sanctioned on the 28th October, 1936. It had been represented at the time to the Department that arrangements had been made for the acquisition of the necessary rights by agreement. It was subsequently intimated on the 21st December last that the rights had not been fully acquired. This matter is still the subject of negotiations between the local authority and the owners of the rights concerned.
