Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laoighis and Offaly Sewerage and Waterworks Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will furnish the total actual and/or estimated cost for the three years ending March 31st, 1937, for the provision and improvement of sewerage and waterworks schemes for the Counties of (1) Laoighis and (2) Offaly, and showing (a) the amount provided by authorised loans, and (b) the amount provided by grants sanctioned by the Minister for Finance.

There were no new works started in Laoighis County in the first year of the period. For the remainder of the period the total estimated cost of the schemes undertaken was £70,100; of this amount a sum of £15,000 will be met out of grants and £55,000 out of loans. In Offaly County there were no new works started in the first two years of the period. In the last year of the period the total estimated cost of the schemes is £18,840, made up of grants of £7,340 and loans £11,500.
