Vol. 65 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Medical Facilities in County Cork.

Mr. Daly

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that the people of Rathcormac dispensary district, County Cork, suffer considerable inconvenience when sudden illness or an accident occurs in a family, as there is no medical officer resident in the area, and if he will cause steps to be taken as soon as possible to have plans for a residence sanctioned.

I am aware that the medical officer is residing outside his dispensary district. The provision of a residence for the medical officer within the dispensary district has been under consideration by the board of public assistance for some time. Revised plans for a new residence were recently submitted to the Department and will be dealt with as soon as possible.
