Vol. 65 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Amendment of Landlord and Tenant Act, 1931.

asked the Minister for Justice whether his attention has been called to the fact that in the Landlord and Tenant Act, 1931, no provision is made whereby the owner of a building lease, who holds for the term of an existing life, can apply to the court for a reversionary lease on the fall of such life, and, if so, whether he will introduce proposals for legislation at an early date to remedy the hardship caused by the absence of such a provision.

The point raised in the question has not been previously brought to my notice. If the Deputy would let me have a statement of the facts of any case or cases in which he is aware that the difficulty referred to has arisen, I shall have it carefully examined.
