Daughter of an alien employed in the Government service.

Notes.

(a) Permits in respect of these aliens have been issued by the Minister for Industry and Commerce under the Aliens Order, 1935.

(b) The foregoing statements show the number of permits granted for the employment of aliens in the Saorstát and current on the 1st March, 1937, according to the occupation and nationality of the aliens concerned. The statements do not contain particulars of (1) aliens whose permits expired prior to the 1st March, 1937, and in respect of whose continued employment applications for extension of permits are at present under consideration, or (2) aliens in the Saorstát in respect of whom applications for permits have been received but on which a decision has not yet been reached.

(c) In the statement showing the numbers of aliens by occupations the technicians in certain industries are shown as experts in the particular industry in which they are employed, but the aliens employed under permit on the executive staff in the same industry are shown under the headings "Managers and Managing Directors,""Engineers," and "Architects."

(d) Permits are not as a rule granted for the employment of aliens as children's nurses or ladies' maids. In the particular cases which appear in the statement in regard to aliens engaged in these capacities the employers are persons who are not ordinarily resident in the Saorstát.

(e) In all appropriate cases, employers are required, as a condition for the issue of a permit, to arrange for the training of a national in the duties performed by the alien.
