Vol. 65 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kildare Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission proposes to acquire the estate of Mr. P. Monaghan, Hodgestown, Donadea, County Kildare, for division.

From the particulars furnished by the Deputy, no estate of the name of P. Monaghan can be identified as the subject of proceedings for acquisition by the Land Commission, but further inquiries will be made.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission proposes to acquire the White Estate at Mount Prospect, Rathangan, County Kildare, for division among local uneconomic holders and landless men.

Mr. Boland

The Land Commission propose to have an inspection made of the lands comprised in the White Estate to which the Deputy refers, with a view to ascertain the suitability of the lands for their purposes. Until this inspection is completed they are not in a position to say whether the lands will be acquired and made available for distribution.

Would the Minister like to make a promise as to when the lands are likely to be acquired?

Mr. Boland

I do not like making promises.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission proposes to acquire the lands of Mrs. O'Connor at Hodgestown, Donadea, County Kildare, for division.

Mr. Boland

The Deputy's question appears to relate to a holding registered in the name of Mary T. Connor, in the townland of Hodgestown. There are no proceedings pending at present for acquisition of these lands by the Land Commission, but inquiry will be made in regard to them.
