Vol. 66 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Materials for House Building.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he can make inter-Departmental arrangements so that materials will be made available to avoid delay in housing where new factories have not yet got their output up to the requirements of his programme of housing, or alternatively, if he can arrange with home factories to undertake supply of requirements on a definite programme stated, guaranteeing them against overproduction.

The reply is in the negative. I am not aware of any necessity for the adoption of such a course.

Is the Minister not aware that contracts have been held up throughout the whole country as a result of not being able to get materials?

No. I am not aware of it.

Have no representations been made to the Minister from any source?

No. Of course, if any representations are made I would be glad to have them considered.

Yes, I know.
