Vol. 66 No. 12

Written Answers. - Damage to Property Compensation.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (a) the names and addresses of persons who were granted decrees and reports under the Damage to Property (Compensation) (Amendment) Act, 1933, in County Mayo; (b) the amount of decrees in each case; (c) the amount of report in each case; (d) the amount paid under the report in each case; and (e) the names of persons to whom the Minister refused payment, and the amount involved in each claim in which payment was not made.

The particulars asked for by the Deputy could not be compiled without an expenditure of time and labour, which would not be justified. Apart from that fact, it has always been the practice of my Department to decline to furnish information in regard to individual compensation awards otherwise than to the applicants concerned or their personally authorised representatives, or to Government Departments or local authorities having a statutory interest in the sums paid or to be paid.
