Vol. 66 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Law of Property.

asked the Minister for Justice if, in view of the widespread demand for a commission of inquiry into the existing law relating to the question of urban leasehold property and ground rents, it is his intention to set up a commission for this purpose before the general election.

A tribunal is at present inquiring into the state of the law governing the relationship between landlords and certain classes of occupying tenants. Until this tribunal has completed its inquiry and presented its report, I do not propose to consider the question of setting up a commission to inquire into the matters referred to in the Deputy's question.
