Vol. 67 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Tipperary Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what steps the Land Commission has taken to acquire the Shanahan estate, Latteragh, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, County Tipperary; if he is aware that two years have elapsed since this estate was brought to the notice of the Land Commission and yet no steps have been taken to acquire it; if he will state when an inspector will be sent down to inspect the lands with a view to acquisition, and when these lands will be taken over for division.

The question appears to refer to the lands at Glenmore Upper containing 353 acres formerly held by Mr. Martin Shanahan, and now in the occupation of Mr. Michael Fogarty. These lands have already been inspected and the Land Commission have under consideration the question of their acquisition, but it is not possible at present to anticipate a decision.
