Vol. 67 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fethard Military Barracks.

Mr. Hogan (for Mr. Pattison)

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he has approved the proposal to acquire as a housing site Fethard military barracks; whether he will state what is causing the delay in proceeding with the proposed housing scheme at that site, and whether, having regard to the urgent need for housing accommodation, and the large number of unemployed men in the town, he will take steps to expedite the inauguration of this scheme.

Subject to compliance with the provisions of the State Lands Act, 1924, I have approved of the acquisition of a site at Fethard military barracks for housing purposes. When the procedure under the Act of 1924 has been complied with, there will be no avoidable delay in having the houses erected.
