Vol. 68 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Distribution of County Dublin Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the number of acres of land divided by the Land Commission, and the number of allottees who were put into possession of new holdings in County Dublin during each of the years 1926 to 1936, inclusive; and if he will state, further, how many acres of land are now in process of acquisition and distribution by the Land Commission in County Dublin; whether he can state what additional acreage will be made available ultimately for distribution in County Dublin.

Mr. Boland

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which will be circulated in the Official Report.

The area of untenanted land at present in process of acquisition and distribution by the Land Commission in County Dublin is approximately 4,000 acres. (This area includes lands acquired but not yet divided and lands which have been gazetted for acquisition or for which offers to purchase have been made and holdings in respect of which proceedings for resumption or exchange have been instituted). In addition an area of 14,000 acres has been inspected or is in process of inspection in County Dublin. No reliable estimate can be made at present as to the total area which may be ultimately available for acquisition and division.
