asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the total amount of unemployment assistance paid during the year ended (1) 31st March, 1936, (2) 31st March, 1937, and the total amount so paid in the Dublin registration area.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what amounts were paid during the year ended 31st March, 1937, by each local authority liable to contribute under the Unemployment Assistance Acts into the Unemployment Assistance Fund, and the total amount so paid.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state for each of the local office areas of: (1) Dublin and Dun Laoghaire, (2) North Leinster, (3) South Leinster, (4) North Munster, (5) South Munster, (6) North Connacht, (7) South Connacht, (8) Ulster, and (9) for the country as a whole, the number of applications for unemployment assistance current in the week preceding (1) 22nd February, (2) 31st May, (3) 30th August, 1937, for (1) men and (2) women, (a) with means, (b) without means, and the number of others on the live register (including persons with unemployment insurance claims current), distinguishing between men, women, boys and girls.

A statement will be circulated with the Official Report showing the information asked for.

Following is the statement:
