Written Answers. - Savings Certificate Investments.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (a) the total amount invested by persons living within Saorstát Eireann in Savings Certificates on the 31st December, 1936; (b) the total amount so invested by persons living outside Saorstát Eireann, and (c) the gross total so invested; and if he will state for each county the total amount so invested on the 31st December, 1936, and the total amount invested per head of the county population.

The information asked for by the Deputy is as follows:—

(a) £7,716,854,

(b) £102,406,

(c) £7,819,260.
