Vol. 69 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pensions Legislation.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will consider the possibility of introducing proposals for legislation to enable pensions to be paid at the age of 65.

The possibility has already been investigated but it has been found that in existing circumstances the cost would be prohibitive.

What would the cost be?

Almost £2,000,000.

The Minister is aware that there was an increase in taxation of £8,000,000 in the last few years?
