Vol. 69 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Safety of Civil Population.

asked the Minister for Defence if he has taken any steps to secure the safety of the civil population from air and gas attack, and, if so, what is the nature of these steps.

The subject of the Deputy's question is at present under consideration. A special branch has been formed to deal with the matter and officers of my Department have attended special courses of instruction in anti-gas measures. They have also been carrying out detailed investigations for a considerable time past with a view to the formulation of a scheme of air raid precautions suitable for this country.
