asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the total amount expended by local authorities on the upkeep (repair as distinct from improvement) of roads in each of the years ended 31st March, 1936, and 31st March, 1937, and the net amount of such expenditure from local funds after deducting the amount of the upkeep grant, distinguishing between (a) county areas exclusive of urban districts, (b) county boroughs, and (c) urban districts.
