The proposal has not been included in the programme of employment schemes for this winter, for the reason that more suitable employment schemes were available. It will, however, be considered on its merits in connection with any further employment schemes programmes, in competition with any other proposals which may be submitted for the same area, and in the light of the unemployment position at the time.

The application referred to has been received. I am informed that one of the landholders, whose lands or interests would be affected by the work, has objected to its execution. In the event of the objection being withdrawn the proposal will be considered on its merits in connection with any future programme of employment schemes, in competition with any other proposals which may be received for the same area, and in the light of the unemployment position at the time.
