Vol. 69 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of West Cork River.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state what is the position regarding the drainage of the river flowing through the townlands of Tineel, Ardagh, Milleen and Froe, Roscarbery, County Cork, and if he is now in a position to state when this scheme will be put into operation.

An application has been received for the work referred to, and an inspection has been made. The proposal has not been included in the programme of employment schemes for this winter, for the reason that more suitable employment schemes were available. It will, however, be considered on its merits in connection with any further employment schemes programmes, in competition with any other proposals which may be submitted for the same area, and in the light of the unemployment position at the time.
