Vol. 69 No. 19

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Delivery of Letters in Balbriggan.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the Balbriggan Town Commissioners have requested his Department to extend the present night delivery to all parts of Balbriggan, and also if he is aware that representations are being made to his Department concerning the present delivery to the effect that general dissatisfaction exists as regards the morning delivery, and, in view of these representations, if he is prepared (1) to extend the night delivery to all parts of Balbriggan town, and (2) to investigate the present postal deliveries and increase the numbers of postmen to ensure that morning deliveries will be concluded in the town before 9.30 each morning.

Arrangements will shortly be put into operation to extend the evening delivery to the entire town of Balbriggan. The inquiries into the question of accelerating the morning delivery in Balbriggan have not yet been completed and I will communicate later with the Deputy in the matter.
