Vol. 70 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Blind Persons' Pensions.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is in a position to state if the discussions regarding the payment of blind persons' pensions which were in progress in November last between the Department of Local Government and Public Health and the Department of Finance are likely to eventuate in proposals for legislation so as to ensure that when calculating the rate of pension, grants made to blind persons under local welfare schemes will not be taken into account, and, further, whether he is in a position to state when these proposals are likely to be introduced in the Dáil.

I have nothing to add to the reply given to the Deputy's question on this subject on the 14th December last.
