Vol. 70 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo Estate.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware of the present impassable condition of the bog road on the O'Reilly Estate, Morohan, Belmullet, County Mayo, and whether in view of the fact that the tenants on this estate depend for a living almost entirely on the sale of turf, he will take steps to put the road into condition to enable them to use it for the removal of turf from the bog.

A number of applications for road works in the townland of Morohan, County Mayo have been received from time to time for consideration under minor employment schemes, but, as the Deputy has already been informed by letter, it is not possible, on the information given, to state which, if any, of them relates to the work referred to in the question.

If the Deputy will be good enough to give further particulars of the proposal which he has in mind the information sought will be supplied.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that there is no such bog road at Morohan?
