Vol. 70 No. 6

Supplementary and Additional Estimates (1937-38)—Issue Out of Central Fund.

Tairgim: —

Go ndeontar suim £463,059 as an bPrímh-Chiste chun an tsoláthair do deonadh i gcóir seirbhíse na bliana dar críoch an 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1938, do shlánú.

Is the Minister going to tell us what the amount of the Central Fund will be?

According to Section 3 of the Central Fund Bill, which will be circulated now, the Minister for Finance may borrow from any person, and the Bank of Ireland may advance to the Minister for Finance, any sum or sums not exceeding £11,093,059. Section 2, probably, is what the Deputy wants to know — the actual issue out of the Central Fund. It is £10,630,000.

Does that represent a very large increase on the Central Fund last year?

We are only providing now for the sum in the Vote on Account and a number of Supplementary Estimates amounting to £463,059 — sums left over from last year.
