Vol. 72 No. 5

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kildare Cottage Contract.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware of the fact that a contract was placed approximately two years ago by the Land Commission for the erection of seven cottages and five outhouses on the Mangan Estate at Boleybeg, Brannoxtown, County Kildare; whether he is aware that only two cottages have been partially erected, and that work has been suspended for the past eight months; and if he will state what steps he proposes to take to ensure that the terms of the contract are complied with and the cottages erected for the persons who have been allocated holdings on the estate.

In this case the contractor defaulted in his contract and other arrangements are being made to have the work in question completed.

Can the Minister say when the work is likely to be completed?

Mr. Boland

I cannot say, but there will be no undue delay.
