Vol. 72 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Customs Arrangements on the Border.

asked the Minister for Finance whether it is intended to make any concessions in the matter of Customs duty to citizens of Eire resident near Northern Ireland who bring out of Northern Ireland dutiable goods for their own consumption; and, if so, whether he will take steps to induce the British Customs authorities to afford similar concessions to citizens of Northern Ireland who do their shopping in Clones and other towns in Eire similarly situated adjacent to the Border.

It is not proposed to make any concessions of the kind referred to in the first part of the question. A reply to the second part of the question does not, therefore, arise.
