Vol. 72 No. 9

Supplementary Estimate. - Vote 52—Agriculture.

Leave given to introduce the following Supplementary Estimate for the service of the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1939, namely:—
Vote 52 (Agriculture).—Minister for Agriculture (Dr. Ryan).

Can the Minister say to what the Estimate refers?

I can give the details to the House. The Estimate is to conclude the agreement with the Roscrea factory. It is proposed to pay something like £32,000, less £11,000 already paid, and less £16,000 to be repaid by that company, so that the net payment will be £5,000. The Estimate will be circulated immediately.

Is there great urgency about this?

The motion before the House is that permission be given to introduce it?

If there is any objection it can be taken to-morrow.

There is of course an objection to taking such an important Estimate at once.

Very well, it can be taken to-morrow.
