Vol. 73 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Great Southern Railway Co.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he has been requested to hold an inquiry into the administration of the affairs of the Great Southern Railway Company, and whether he is in a position to indicate what action he proposes to take in regard to such representations.

I have received a request of the nature referred to in the question. The transport position generally is at present under examination in my Department but I am not yet in a position to indicate what further steps may require to be taken in the matter.

Is the Minister fully satisfied that the Transport Act of 1933 is being administered by the Railway Company in accordance with his wishes and intentions?

That is a very wide question.

It is a straight question.

I could not possibly answer it in the time at my disposal.
