Vol. 73 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Examination for Postmen.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he has received representations to hold an examination confined to postmen, Grades A and B, for the purpose of filling vacancies in the Post Office Clerk grade at Dublin; and if he will state when a decision in the matter will be announced.

The representations referred to have been received. Proposals for the holding of an examination, confined to postmen, for posts of Post Office clerk, Grade "B", in Dublin, are at present under consideration, and it is hoped to reach a decision at an early date.

Seeing that this matter has been under consideration for two years, will the Minister indicate when it is likely that a definite decision will be announced?

I cannot say anything more than I have said, but I am keeping my eye on the matter, anyhow.
