Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Certificates of Naturalisation.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the total number of persons to whom certificates of naturalisation were granted during the year ended September 30th, 1938; the previous nationality of the persons to whom certificates were granted, and the number of applications for certificates refused in the same period.

The answer will be published in the Official Report.

Following is the answer:—

During the year ended the 30th September, 1938 sixty-nine certificates of naturalisation were issued and thirteen applications for certificates of naturalisation were refused Forty-nine applications were still under consideration on the 30th September, 1938.
