Vol. 73 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Travelling Shops.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he can now state when proposals for legislation to deal with the question of travelling shops will be introduced.

I would refer the Deputy to the provision made in Section 21 of the Finance Act, 1938, which will have the effect, as from the 1st April next, of doubling the existing licence duty on travelling shops. Apart from this provision, it is not intended to introduce any special legislation in the matter.
