Vol. 73 No. 9

Red Cross Bill, 1938—From the Seand.

I move: That the Dáil agree with the Seanad in amendment No. 1.

In sub-section (1), page 3, line 45, to insert after the word "person" the words "without the authority of the Minister for Industry and Commerce."

Under certain regulations made by the Department of Industry and Commerce, it is prescribed that first aid outfits shall be kept in factories and that they be marked with a white cross. Under Section 5 we prohibited the use of the white cross symbol, and this amendment will have the effect of allowing the Minister for Industry and Commerce to permit of the white cross being used.

Amendment agreed to.

I move: That the Dáil agree with the Seanad in amendment No. 2.

In sub-section (1), page 3, line 49, to delete the word "limits" and substitute the word "limbs".

This is purely a drafting amendment.

Amendment agreed to.
