Owing to the large number of employment schemes in hands in all parts of the country, the weekly returns of employment for the period covered by the question have not yet been finally checked and tabulated, but subject to revision on receipt of some outstanding returns, the best available estimate of the total number of workers engaged on all types of employment schemes in rural and urban areas for the dates quoted are as follows:—
