Vol. 74 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Apprenticeship Committee.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether it is proposed to extend the operations of the Apprenticeship Committee established for the furniture trade under the Apprenticeship Act, 1931, to all areas in the State; and, if so, when he will be in a position to make an order for that purpose.

The operations of the Apprenticeship Committee for the furniture trade set up in 1935 are confined by the provisions of the relevant Orders to the County and County Borough of Dublin. The remainder of the country was subsequently designated as an apprenticeship district for the purposes of this trade. The various steps incidental to the setting up of the second committee have now been completed and it is anticipated that the committee will commence to function at an early date.
