All existing vacancies for writing assistants have been filled. The extension of the list of candidates declared successful at any examination must depend on the requirements of the public service from time to time, and it is not practicable to state at present whether it will be necessary to authorise an extension of the list of candidates declared successful in the October, 1938, examination for posts as writing assistant.
