The number of persons in each occupation in the building trade group on the live register at Dublin Employment Exchange on the first Monday in January, 1939, is as follows:—Carpenters, 434; bricklayers, 117; masons, 28; plasterers and tilers, 147; painters, 596; plumbers and glaziers, 99; builders' labourers, 1,774, making a total of 3,195.
