Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Testing of Seed Oats.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the number of samples of seed oats sent for test for germination and purity to the Departmental Seed Testing Station during the 1939 season; and also, if he will state the number of samples found to be under 80 per cent. germination, the number between 80 per cent. and 90 per cent., and the number over 90 per cent.

1,194 samples of seed oats were tested at my Department's Seed Testing Station since 1st October last. Of these 239 showed a germination of under 80 per cent.; 432, a germination of between 81 per cent. and 90 per cent., and 523, a germination of over 91 per cent.
