Vol. 76 No. 2

In Committee on Finance. - Excess Vote (Department of the President of the Executive Council).

I move:

Go ndeontar suim ná raghaidh thar £221 14s. 7d. chun slánuithe do dhéanamh ar Iomarca ar an Deontas do Roinn Uachtarán na hArd-Chomhairle in aghaidh na bliana dar chríoch an 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1938.

That a sum not exceeding £221 14s. 7d. be granted to make good an Excess on the Grant for the Department of the President of the Executive Council for the year ended 31st March, 1938.

This Resolution is moved in pursuance of a recommendation of the Public Accounts Committee. Arising out of the Anglo-Irish discussions which took place in London between the months of January and April of last year, an excess arose in this Vote which was entirely unforeseen when the Estimate was being prepared originally. As the negotiations had not been concluded until after the close of the last financial year, it was not possible to move a Supplementary Estimate to cover the whole amount. Consequently, this Excess Vote is now being moved.

Question put and agreed to.
