Vol. 77 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Making of Trade Treaties.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state whether he has arranged or proposes to arrange for the making of trade treaties with South American States who may be in a position to supply goods required by this country during the present crisis.

I am prepared to consider making arrangements with South American or other countries in a position to supply goods required by this country provided arrangements mutually satisfactory can be made.

In connection with this matter will the Minister take into consideration that ships belonging to neutral countries are available to be taken into the service of our Government at this particular time?

Certainly.
