Vol. 78 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Supply in Ballyragget.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state what is the present position of the proposed scheme for a water supply in Ballyragget, County Kilkenny; and if he is aware that proposals concerning this scheme have now been under consideration for several years.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply to his question of the 9th February last.

A report of the local engineer which was received in my Department in May last on gaugings taken at the proposed source of supply showed that there was considerable variation in the tests made. The commissioner was advised in June last to have further gaugings taken during the summer season. No results have since been submitted to my Department. A further communication in the matter is now being sent to the commissioner.
